baby steps

I didn’t even bother making vague resolutions for the New Year.  Last weekend was just another weekend.  I had champagne instead of wine at home.  But I do tend to have a rolling list of attainable goals.

Current tiny life goal: packing lunch sometimes.
Reasons: primarily to save money, and I hear there’s that health benefit too (but not the way I cook!)

Proposed baby step: bringing in massive amounts of steamed rice*, letting myself buy random stuff from the per pound place, hoping to spend less if I have my own starch in the office.  I hope that the effort expended at bringing /anything/ to work will prompt me to add in more stuff. Even if it’s just some pickled veggies.

Then again, I already bring in snacks and yogurt and fruit most weeks so I’m not sure that there will be a new impetus to pack more…

* - I’d bring baking potatoes to nuke but I think that makes me VERY STRANGE. I did it once, half cooking it at home and finishing it in the office pantry.  Everyone was like wtf.  So. I’ll save my potato eating for home.
